Job summary

Modo Energy is hiring frontend engineers to join one of our product teams. You’ll contribute to a shared TypeScript, React, and Next.js codebase in a monorepo and build against our design system.

You’ll ship features across the Terminal, Data, Ko, or Modelling teams, with autonomy and opportunities to influence architecture. You should be comfortable with modern frontend tooling, testing, and performance, and enjoy collaborating with designers, data scientists, and energy domain experts to

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional frontend development experience with TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
• Experience with a component library such as MUI.
• Solid testing practice with Jest and Cypress or Playwright.
• Proficient with Git, Docker, CI/CD, and monorepo structures (Turborepo, Yarn Workspaces).
• Fluent with AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot).
• Strong UI/UX sensibility and polished interfaces.
• Fast learner with good judgement and autonomy in a small, fast-moving team.

Responsibilities

• Shape the frontend monorepo technical direction as it scales.
• Design and build components in the internal UI library built on MUI.
• Build high-performance interfaces that handle live market data.
• Write well-tested code and contribute to reviews and documentation.
• Balance feature shipping with maintenance, performance, and production issues.
• Collaborate with design and domain experts to bridge design and engineering.
• Engage with backend/infrastructure work as needed for your features.
