Job summary

Solos Consultants Ltd is recruiting an experienced Digital Developer to join a government organisation on a 6-month contract in Exeter, with hybrid working (1-2 days in the office). You will build modern frontend experiences using React, Next.js and TypeScript, delivering accessible, responsive interfaces and integrating with internal APIs.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with React, Next.js and TypeScript.
• Excellent HTML, CSS and JavaScript knowledge.
• Experience integrating with APIs.
• Familiarity with Elasticsearch and SQL-based databases.
• Git and modern development workflows.
• Cloud environments, ideally Azure and/or AWS.
• Accessible and responsive frontend development.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration in an Agile setting.

Responsibilities

• Developing responsive, accessible and high-quality user interfaces using React, Next.js and TypeScript.
• Working with internal APIs and search indexes to deliver effective user experiences.
• Collaborating with design and product teams to create intuitive and user-friendly interfaces.
• Maintaining and enhancing existing applications.
• Participating in code reviews, testing and debugging.
• Supporting CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Producing technical documentation and contributing to project requirements.
• Working within Agile development practices.
