North Somerset Council is recruiting for a Front Line Delivery Officer to support School Transport and Demand Response services. The role involves operating fleet vehicles to convey passengers according to a set timetable, with training to become licensed taxi drivers where required.

You will work under the Operations Lead Officer in the Integrated Transport Solutions team, delivering efficient, customer-focused frontline transport services.

Qualifications

• Clean driving licence (essential)
• Ability to hold or pass taxi licence requirements
• Customer-focused approach to service delivery
• Exceptional driving standards upheld at all times
• Willingness to undertake taxi driver training and testing
• Accurate money handling and good numeracy

Responsabilités

• Plan and acknowledge daily work instructions and deploy resources accordingly
• Deliver frontline services to customers according to journey plans and schedules with professionalism
• Report issues or incidents per agreed protocols and document variances
• Utilise ICT equipment and ticket machines to monitor service quality
• Maintain literacy and numeracy skills to perform duties
• Handle money or card payments
• Position, collect and return council vehicles from multiple locations
• Support upkeep of council assets and transport infrastructure
• Conduct daily vehicle checks and report defects or damage
• Report near misses or damages incurred in accidents
