Job summary

North Somerset Council is seeking a Front Line Delivery Officer to join our field-based team in North Somerset. You will deliver frontline services following a planned schedule, using ICT and ticket machines, and you will handle payments while maintaining high customer service standards.

We expect good literacy and numeracy, a Category B driving licence, and a valid taxi licence. The role offers a permanent, full-time position with flexible working and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Literacy and numeracy skills demonstrated to a good standard.
• Ability to handle money or card payments.
• ICT equipment and ticket machines used for service delivery.
• Valid driving licence Category B and taxi licence where required.

Responsibilities

• Acknowledge daily work instructions and plan deployments.
• Deliver frontline services following a journey plan or timetable with a customer-focused approach.
• Report issues or incidents in line with council policy and schedules.
• Use ICT equipment and ticket machines to monitor service quality.
• Maintain literacy and numeracy in day-to-day tasks.
• Take money or card payments.
• Position, collect and return council vehicles from multiple locations.
• Support upkeep of council assets and public transport infrastructure.
• Perform daily vehicle walk-around checks and report defects.
• Report near misses or damages incurred.
• Maintain a valid Category B driving licence and taxi licence certificate.
• Conform to Integrated Transport Solutions operational requirements.
