Job summary

Bimplus is seeking a Scoping Engineer to join the growing Pre-Construction team. The role supports major water and wastewater projects across Kent, Sussex and Hampshire with a Mechanical or Process bias (Electrical considered).

The candidate will perform site surveys, assess assets, define scope, and work with design and estimating teams to price and plan early-stage engineering decisions.

Qualifications

• Engineer with a mechanical or process bias; electrical engineers considered.
• Experience with site surveys and asset inspections.
• Ability to scope projects and understand constructability.

Responsibilities

• Visiting water and wastewater treatment sites to carry out engineering surveys.
• Assessing existing mechanical, process or electrical assets.
• Defining project scope and identifying engineering requirements.
• Reviewing constructability and determining the safest and most efficient way to deliver the works.
• Identifying project risks, constraints and opportunities.
• Working closely with design engineers to develop practical engineering solutions.
• Liaising with estimating teams to ensure every element of the project has been identified and accurately priced.
• Supporting feasibility studies, optioneering and early-stage engineering decisions.
• Producing clear technical scope documents and engineering reports.
• Providing technical support to delivery teams as projects move into construction.
