Job summary

Kirklees is seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead the Front Door service, the first contact point for children, young people and families. You will drive timely, proportionate decisions and champion a child‑focused approach across a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires senior leadership, safeguarding expertise and the ability to influence across partners, with responsibility for budgetary oversight and continuous service improvement.

Qualifications

• Qualified and Social Work England‑registered social worker.
• Significant post‑qualification experience in children’s social care.
• Proven track record of management in a social care setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Front Door service including the Emergency Duty Team, with clear expectations for safe, timely decisions.
• Ensure all new contacts are screened, assessed and responded to consistently with oversight and rationale.
• Strengthen multidisciplinary and multi‑agency working with police, health, education and partners.
