Job summary

Sainsbury's is seeking a Customer Delivery Driver in the United Kingdom. You will deliver groceries door-to-door in a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van, maintaining a high standard of customer service and ensuring orders reach customers in excellent condition.

You will check vehicle safety, follow efficient routes and handle deliveries across various properties, with flexibility to support store tasks when not on deliveries. A friendly, safety-conscious approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Over 18 years old and must have held a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points
• Right to Work eligibility in the UK
• Will complete an online driving risk assessment as part of the interview and, if successful, a driving assessment when joining

Responsibilities

• Be the face of Sainsbury’s at every doorstep you deliver to, making customers feel valued with a friendly and helpful delivery service
• Drive a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van to deliver groceries to customers on time and in great condition
• Complete checks to ensure the van is roadworthy, clean and organised, and that customers’ shopping is secure before setting off
• Follow planned routes and drive safely in varying locations, traffic, weather and road conditions
• Move containers weighing up to 15kg and deliver shopping to properties that may involve steps, lifts or longer walks from the van
• Communicate clearly with customers, informing them of delays and handling queries and any order changes
• When not delivering, assist across the store as needed
