Job summary

Sainsbury's in the United Kingdom is seeking a Customer Delivery Driver to bring groceries to customers’ doorsteps with energy, warmth and care. You will drive a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van, perform safety checks, and ensure orders arrive in excellent condition.

You'll be the friendly face of the brand, communicating effectively with customers, handling delays, and assisting in-store when not out delivering. A valid licence and UK work rights are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Must be over 18 years old and have held a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points on it.
• Right to Work eligibility in the UK is required.
• You will complete an online driving risk assessment as part of your interview and, if successful, there’s a driving assessment when you join us.

Responsibilities

• Be the face of Sainsbury's at every doorstep you deliver to, making customers feel valued.
• Drive a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van to deliver groceries on time and in great condition.
• Perform checks to ensure the van is roadworthy, clean and organized and that shopping is secure before departure.
• Follow planned routes and drive safely in various locations and conditions.
• Move containers up to 15kg and deliver to properties including steps and lifts as needed.
• Communicate with customers about delays or changes and handle queries.
• When not delivering, assist across the store as needed.
