Job summary

Church View Surgery is recruiting a friendly Medical Receptionist to join our busy GP practice. You will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, delivering excellent customer service while handling appointments and administrative tasks. Training is provided, and prior reception or healthcare experience is advantageous.

The role emphasizes confidentiality, teamwork and patient-centred care in a forward-thinking practice serving around 12,600 patients.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a caring patient-centred approach.
• Previous experience in reception, customer service or healthcare is advantageous; full training provided.
• Ability to work calmly under pressure and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors in a professional, friendly manner.
• Book, amend and cancel appointments using SystmOne and SystmConnect.
• Process online consultation requests and signpost patients to the right service.
• Maintain accurate patient records and handle confidential information.
• Support recall programmes, test results and demographic updates.
