Job summary

Asda Stores Ltd in Gateshead is seeking a Fresh Manager to lead the Fresh department, ensuring top availability and store standards through effective execution and compliance with safety and legal requirements.

You will drive shrink reduction, coach the team, and manage shifts to deliver excellent customer service while maintaining strong waste control and date code compliance. A 45-hour week and daytime shifts apply.

Qualifications

• Experience as Team Leader or Supervisor in a retail environment.
• Operational knowledge on food or non-food departments.
• Knowledge of improving availability, reducing waste, and managing shrink.
• Experience developing teams and managing change through leadership and building resilience.
• Strong organisational skills and great customer service.
• Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Run day-to-day Fresh department operations as part of store management.
• Lead waste control, date code compliance and safety standards to ensure legality and safety for customers and colleagues.
