Green & Wolvin Recruitment seeks a Freight Operations Specialist (4on4off) in Redditch, Worcestershire. You will report to the Freight Operations Manager and handle pricing, bookings and customs documentation across air, sea and road freight for import/export operations.

Your background should include 2+ years in freight forwarding or transport planning, with knowledge of INCOTerms and the ability to work a 4-on/4-off hybrid shift in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in freight forwarding or transport planning.
• Experience in pricing, quotations and planning customer deliveries across air, sea or road freight forwarding.
• Desirable knowledge of customs compliance and INCOTerms.
• Commutable to Redditch, Worcestershire.
• Able to work a 4on4off shift pattern on a hybrid basis.

Responsibilities

• Price, quote, book and monitor freight across import/export by air, sea and road.
• Handle air/sea/ocean freight bookings including pricing, quotations and customs documentation.
• Develop relationships to provide high‑level customer service.
• Inform customers about freight prices, port charges and insurance costs.
• Process customs entries and VAT/duties billing.
• Prepare operations documents (booking, airway bills, loading confirmations).
• Nominate carriers and airlines aligned with INCOTerms.

We are actively looking to engage customs compliance professionals with a passion for shipping and European / RoW freight forwarding for a new role as a Freight Operations Specialist (4on4off) in Redditch, Worcestershire. This role is for a 4on4off shift pattern on a hybrid work basis.

My client is a SME freight forwarding business, with huge ambitions for growth, in the freight & shipping industry. You will be joining a fast-pace environment assisting in finding logistics solutions for some of the world's largest industrial, retail & FMCG based customers. My client focuses on providing freight forwarding & customs clearance for air freight, sea freight & road freight solutions, which are both cost effective & time sensitive.

Job Description

As a Freight Operations Specialist (4on4off) you will report in to the Freight Operations Manager on a daily basis. You will be responsible for the following areas for responsibility across the in Redditch office in Worcestershire..

• Managing the pricing, quoting, booking and file monitoring of freight across import & export across air, sea & road freight.
• Manage air, sea & ocean freight import and export bookings including pricing, quotations, end-to-end shipping and customs documentations.
• Develop and build relationships to ensure a high level of customer service is provided to clients with a knowledge of the clients business requirements
• Informing customers are about the freight prices, port charges, cost of special documents, insurance prices as well as prices for handling the goods.
• Handling customs entries (EUR1's / ATR1's) and arranging billings for VAT/Duties
• Documents of Operations and transportation (booking, airway bills and loading confirmation)
• Nominating carriers, airlines and GSA in-line with rates, OTIF value and customer requirements in line with a variety of INCOTerms.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have an expansive background in customs compliance within the freight forwarding industry. The ideal Freight Operations Specialist (4on4off) will have the following skills and experience:

• 2+ year's experience in freight forwarding, transport planning
• Experience of pricing, quotation and planning customer deliveries across air, sea or road freight forwarding
• Desirable experience of customs compliance (not essential)
• Knowledge of INCOTerms is advantageous
• Commutable to Redditch, Worcestershire
• Ability to a work a 4on4off shift pattern on a hybrid basis.
