TVS SCS invites an experienced Freight Operations Leader to manage import/export, billing, and customs for key accounts in the UK. You will drive day-to-day decision making, coordinate with global partners, and ensure customer satisfaction across all levels of operations.

You will oversee financial processes, implement productivity enhancements, and lead freight system digitalisation efforts. The role requires strong leadership, pricing knowledge, and a proven track record in freight forwarding.

Competenze

• Degree or equivalent in Logistics, Supply Chain or Freight Forwarding.
• 10+ years in freight forwarding/operations, with management experience.
• Established relationships with customers, airlines, and agents.
• Strong knowledge of pricing, reporting, and compliance.

Job Description:

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Manage the import, export, billing and customs processes and procedures for assigned Freight Operations accounts.
• Be responsible for day-to-day decision-making and ensure escalations are addressed promptly.
• Coordinate with agents, carriers, vendors, overseas offices, COE and customers to ensure smooth transactions.
• Ensure customer satisfaction is maintained across all levels of operations.
• Ensure that financial management, billing, and invoicing are carried out in a timely manner
• Support productivity enhancements within Freight Operations.
• Actively engage in freight system digitalisation initiatives across the network.
• Support corporate initiatives for Freight Solutions.
• Support the selection of carriers and agents and negotiate rates and pricing.
• Support commercial activities by providing freight solutions for target customers and assisting local sales efforts through joint customer calls, bids and proposal preparation.
• Participate in project bids and execution
• Monitor KPIs and ensure timely generation of reports for management review
• Ensure company policies and procedures, confidentiality requirements, and legal and ethical guidelines, such as the Delegation of Authority, are clearly communicated and adhered to.
• Coach and guide junior team members to ensure development and succession planning

Required Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

• Degree or equivalent professional qualification/experience in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Freight Forwarding or a related field.
• Significant experience in freight forwarding operations, preferably in a management role, typically gained through 10+ years' relevant freight forwarding or equivalent experience.
• Established working relationships with customers, airlines, shipping lines and agents.
• Strong knowledge of cargo service pricing and freight operations.
• Ensure operations comply with applicable UK customs, trade compliance, health and safety, data protection, company policies, and ethical standards.
• Working knowledge of financial reporting.
• Strong customer management skills.
• Good knowledge of freight management systems, including CargoWise, local customs and trade portals.
• Strong teamwork skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong decision-making skills.
• Strong people management and development skills.
• Strong service orientation.
• Strong change management skills.
