Job summary

Stafforce Ports is seeking a motivated Freight Forwarding Assistant in Immingham to support day-to-day forwarding operations and ensure high levels of customer service across import, export, and logistics activities.

You will manage quotations, coordinate shipments, handle customs entries, liaise with shipping lines and partners, and help implement efficient processes. The role offers a permanent contract with a salary of £25,436 to £30,000 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in freight forwarding, logistics or customs operations.
• Knowledge of UK and international import/export procedures.
• Experience completing customs entries.
• Familiarity with road freight in the EU.
• Knowledge of Destin8 software.

Responsibilities

• Manage freight forwarding activities from quotation to invoicing.
• Coordinate import/export shipments and ensure customs compliance.
• Complete and process customs entries for import/export movements.
• Liaise with shipping lines, hauliers, customers and overseas partners.
• Negotiate competitive rates with shipping lines and transport providers.
• Monitor shipments and resolve operational issues proactively.
• Provide regular updates and excellent service to customers.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Support development of efficient processes and service standards.
