Job summary

TLP Recruitment is seeking a confident Freight Forwarder All-Rounder to manage Air & Sea freight for a dynamic UK-based client. You’ll quote, book, track and troubleshoot shipments while keeping customers happy. You’ll liaise with airlines, carriers and customers, handle documentation such as AWBs and B/Ls, and stay compliant with customs regulations.

Qualifications

• Experience in freight forwarding, ideally across Air & Sea.
• Knowledge of HAWB, ETA, B/L, demurrage and customs clearance.
• Organised, proactive and calm under pressure; good at communicating with customers and partners.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate air and sea freight shipments from start to finish.
• Prepare quotes, bookings and shipping documentation (AWBs, B/Ls).
• Liaise with airlines, shipping lines, hauliers, agents and customers to ensure smooth movement.
• Track shipments and keep customers updated throughout the journey.
• Problem-solve when things go sideways and keep operations running.
• Build strong customer relationships through proactive communication.
• Stay on top of customs requirements and international shipping regulations.
• Work closely with the wider team to keep operations moving smoothly.

We connect cargo with continents, planes with pallets, and sometimes customers with their long-lost shipments (just kidding… mostly).

The Role

We’re looking for a confident Freight Forwarder All-Rounder who can juggle Air & Sea freight without breaking a sweat — or at least without losing their sense of humour.

From quoting and booking to tracking and troubleshooting, you’ll be the glue that keeps shipments moving and customers happy.

What You’ll Do

• Coordinate air and sea freight shipments from start to finish — the whole journey, minus the jet lag.
• Prepare accurate quotes, bookings and shipping documentation, ensuring all the T’s are crossed and B/Ls, AWBs and paperwork are in order.
• Liaise with airlines, shipping lines, hauliers, agents and customers to make sure everything moves when and where it should.
• Track shipments and keep customers updated throughout the journey.
• Problem-solve like a pro when things go sideways — because, occasionally, they do.
• Build strong customer relationships through clear, proactive communication.
• Stay on top of customs requirements, international shipping regulations and industry procedures.
• Work closely with the wider team to keep operations running smoothly.

Who You Are

• You have experience in freight forwarding, ideally across Air & Sea.
• You speak fluent logistics — words like HAWB, ETA, B/L, demurrage and customs clearance don’t scare you.
• You’re organised, proactive and calm under pressure — or at least very good at looking like you are.
• You’re confident communicating with customers, suppliers and overseas partners.
• You can multitask, troubleshoot and keep things moving when plans change.
• You’re a team player with a good sense of humour and a genuine interest in the freight industry.
