Job summary

WR Logistics is seeking an experienced Freight Forwarder to join a friendly Portsmouth team. The role covers managing import shipments from booking to delivery, processing import customs entries via CDS, and coordinating sea and air freight movements.

You will liaise with customers, hauliers and shipping lines, track shipments, and ensure deadlines are met while maintaining high service levels. The package includes pension, parking and a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a freight forwarding environment is essential.
• Hands-on with import customs entries via CDS.
• Experience handling sea and/or air freight shipments.
• Good understanding of import process from clearance to delivery.

Freight Forwarder - Import & Export

Location: Portsmouth

Salary: £30,000 - £39,000 DOE

Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm

We're recruiting for an experienced Freight Forwarder to join a friendly and well-established freight forwarding business in Portsmouth.

The Role

• Managing import shipments from booking through to delivery
• Completing and processing import customs entries via CDS
• Coordinating sea and air freight movements
• Arranging collections and deliveries
• Liaising with customers, hauliers, shipping lines and other suppliers
• Tracking shipments and keeping customers updated
• Preparing and checking shipping and customs documentation
• Handling queries and resolving any issues that arise
• Ensuring shipments are processed accurately and within deadlines

About You

• Previous experience within a freight forwarding environment
• Hands-on experience with CDS and import customs entries
• Experience handling sea and/or air freight
• Good understanding of the import process from clearance through to delivery
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• A proactive, can-do approach and the ability to work to deadlines
• Experience with CNS, Destin8, Boxtop or Descartes would be advantageous.
