We are looking to engage with Freelance Teaching Assistant Tutors, provisionally for 3-6 months, to hold cohorts in Lincoln, Gainsborough and Boston.

Please note: We are currently only recruiting for qualified trainers. If you do not have the required qualifications, we will be unable to take you further at this stage. You must have all required certificates and CPD up to date.

As a Teaching Assistant Tutor at Realise, you will play a key role in supporting adult learners to achieve recognised qualifications (Award in Support Work in Schools and Colleges and Award in Preparing to Work in Schools RQF) and build the skills they need for life and work. Working closely with Tutors and the wider team, you will help deliver high-quality, inclusive provision while providing tailored support to individuals throughout their learning journey. Your encouragement, organisation and commitment will help learners overcome barriers and progress with confidence.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting the delivery of educational qualifications in hubs, community venues and online, ensuring learning is accessible, engaging and tailored to individual needs.
  • Managing a caseload of learners, identifying and addressing barriers to achievement and providing ongoing support to keep them on track.
  • Assisting with planning, delivery and assessment activities, including monitoring attendance, conducting assessments, providing constructive feedback, completing marking and invigilating exams where required.
  • Completing post-enrolment administration, ensuring compliance, accurate documentation and timely submission of paperwork using e-portfolio systems.
  • Working collaboratively with learner recruitment and quality assurance teams to share best practice, contribute to curriculum improvements and drive high achievement rates.
  • Creating and maintaining a positive, inclusive and respectful learning environment.
  • Embedding Safeguarding and British Values within sessions and supporting learners’ personal development.

NB. Our cohorts are typically delivered across 16 consecutive weekdays. Delivery is between 9.30am–3.30pm with the remaining 2 hours saved for marking.

Where will I be based?

This is a hub‑based role, with your time split between Lincoln, Boston and Gainsborough. This will be discussed with you further in your interview.

About You
  • Teaching experience with knowledge of SEND, Autism and/or Forest Schools.
  • Recent frontline operational experience relevant to the qualifications delivered.
  • Minimum Level 3 teaching qualification (AET, PTLLS) and assessing qualification (CAVA, TAQA, A1, D32, D33).
  • Occupational competency in subject(s) taught, and commitment to maintaining it.
  • UK driving licence, own vehicle, and willingness to travel as needed.
