Job summary

Brown & Wills Recruitment is seeking a Senior Engineer for a long-term project based in North Yorkshire. You will join a engineering team with responsibility for technical engineering management across the project, setting out and using EDM/total station instruments, and supporting a team of site engineers.

You will maintain quality inspection records, manage information flow between design and delivery, and apply civil and build discipline experience to mitigate ground risks and subcontract

Qualifications

• Senior engineer level with civil and build discipline exposure.
• Experience on large, complex projects and mitigating ground risks (underground services).
• Experience managing groundworks subcontract packages.
• Excellent management skills and ability to work in a team and deliver without compromising standards.
• Fully conversant with robotic total station instruments and AutoCAD.
• Hold SSSTS, CSCS, and ideally First Aid, plus a full UK driving licence.

Job description

An opportunity is available for a Senior Engineer to provide key support on an ongoing project based in the North Yorkshire area.

The role will be part of an engineering team where you will have responsibility and accountable for the technical engineering management across the project. You will have experience of setting out and you will be fully conversant with the use of EDM / total station instruments, however you will have a number of site engineers to support this function. Experience of maintaining quality inspection records and undertaking inspections is a prerequisite as is managing technical information flow between the design team and delivery team.

To be considered for this post you should fit the following criteria;

• Have a proven track record of operating at senior engineer level with exposure to both civils and build disciplines.
• Have experience working on large complex projects and a good understanding of mitigating ground risks such as underground services.
• Have exposure to managing groundworks subcontract packages.
• Hold excellent management skills and the abilityto work well in a team environment, contributing across a business unit, you’llbe able to manage projects simultaneously without compromising on standard andquality.
• Fully conversant with the use of robotic total station instruments along with some experience of AutoCAD.
• You should also hold a minimum of SSSTS certification, CSCS and ideally First Aid, as well as a full UK driving licence.

This is a long-term requirement circa 1 year plus, so excellent opportunity for continuity of work.
