Job summary

Morson Edge seeks an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor for a major civils infrastructure project in Holywell. You will manage subcontractor procurement, cost control, valuations and contract administration on a £40m+ program with ~2 years remaining on site.

Role requires NEC contract expertise, strong client-facing skills, and robust cost forecasting and budgeting capabilities to ensure financial efficiency and contractual compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in civil engineering quantity surveying.
• Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial management.
• Experience in managing large-scale civils projects (£40m+).
• Client-facing and excellent communication skills.
• Proficient in cost forecasting and budget management.

Responsibilities

• Manage subcontractor quotations, orders, and payments
• Monitor and control project costs and cash flow forecasts
• Prepare and submit monthly payment applications and valuations
• Administer contract change control processes, including Early Warnings and Compensation Events

Freelance Quantity Surveyor – Holywell – Civils - £400/420 per day Outside IR35

Working Pattern: 4 days on site, 1 day WFH

Contract Duration: Approximately 2 years remaining on site

Project Value: £40-50 million spend remaining, with general civils packages currently and infrastructure packages commencing in 9 to 12 months

This position requires strong knowledge of civil engineering works and the ability to manage a significant project budget over the remaining two years on site. The role includes a client-facing element and requires adherence to key industry standards.
