Job summary

Morson Human Resources Limited in Holywell is seeking an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to manage the commercial elements of civil engineering packages on a major infrastructure project. You will handle subcontractor procurement, cost control, valuations and contract administration for the remaining two years on site.

Responsibilities

• Manage subcontractor quotations, orders, and payments.
• Monitor and control project costs and cash flow forecasts.
• Prepare and submit monthly payment applications and valuations.
• Administer contract change control processes (Early Warnings, Compensation Events).
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams on commercial matters.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and industry standards.
• Support transition to infrastructure packages in later stages.

Freelance Quantity Surveyor – Holywell – Civils - £400/420 per day Outside IR35
Working Pattern: 4 days on site, 1 day WFH
Contract Duration: Approximately 2 years remaining on site
Project Value: £40-50 million spend remaining, with general civils packages currently and infrastructure packages commencing in 9 to 12 months

Summary

We are seeking an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to join a major civils infrastructure project based in Holywell. The role involves managing commercial aspects of civil engineering packages, including subcontractor procurement, cost control, valuations, and contract administration. You will work closely with the client and project teams to ensure financial efficiency and compliance with contract terms. This position requires strong knowledge of civil engineering works and the ability to manage a significant project budget over the remaining two years on site. The role includes a client-facing element and requires adherence to key industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage subcontractor quotations, orders, and payments
