Ganymede Solutions Ltd. is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work across multiple civil engineering and infrastructure projects in the M25 corridor and central London.
The role offers a freelance, full-time position with strong commercial influence and opportunities to affect project performance. The successful candidate will manage commercial matters, negotiate with supply chains, and support forecasting and final accounts.
M25 Corridor / Central London | £500–£550 per day | Inside IR35
This is an opportunity to work across multiple civil engineering and infrastructure projects throughout the M25 corridor and central London, giving you exposure to different project teams, commercial challenges and opportunities to make a tangible impact on project performance.
You'll be joining an established infrastructure contractor with a substantial pipeline of secured work, specialist in-house delivery capabilities and a reputation built on delivering complex projects across the UK.
With a day rate of £500–£550 inside IR35, this freelance opportunity could suit a Senior Quantity Surveyor who enjoys being close to project delivery, influencing commercial decisions and finding opportunities others might miss.
You'll have a key role in the commercial performance of projects, working alongside operational and senior commercial teams to identify where value can be gained, where risks need challenging and where better commercial decisions can make a difference.
The variety across the regional portfolio means you'll need to think on your feet, build relationships quickly and adapt to different project requirements rather than simply repeating the same routine.
You'll have the scope to influence how projects are commercially managed, from negotiating with the supply chain and challenging costs to improving forecasting accuracy and protecting margins.
The role will initially be full-time across site and office locations, giving you the opportunity to get close to the projects and the people delivering them. Once established, there may be scope for up to two days of hybrid working per week.
Variety: Work across multiple infrastructure projects rather than being tied to a single scheme.
Commercial influence: Play an active role in identifying opportunities, managing risk and improving project outcomes.
Established workload: Join a contractor with long-term framework agreements and major infrastructure schemes.
A strong delivery environment: Work alongside project teams with access to specialist engineering and direct delivery capabilities.
Competitive rate: £500–£550 per day, Inside IR35.
You’ll be an experienced Quantity Surveyor who understands that good commercial management is about more than producing reports. You know how to challenge costs, negotiate effectively, spot contractual opportunities and build the relationships needed to get things agreed.
You’ll ideally bring experience across civil engineering or infrastructure projects, with a solid understanding of NEC contracts.
You’ll be comfortable taking ownership of commercial issues, managing subcontractor relationships and working directly with project teams to keep financial performance on track. Experience with CVRs, forecasting, procurement and final accounts will be important, alongside the confidence to make decisions and stand behind your commercial recommendations.
A relevant Quantity Surveying qualification, professional membership and a CSCS card would be advantageous.
