Job summary

Map Talent is seeking an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to join a large-scale development project in Gloucester. The role focuses on subcontract management, procurement, change control, and cost reporting, driving value and ensuring contractual compliance on site.

The ideal candidate will oversee monthly valuations, CVRs, forecasts and cost-to-complete assessments, while managing variations and commercial risk across packages.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing subcontract management: monthly valuations, payment assessments, variations and commercial queries.
• Procurement and package management: ensure outstanding packages are procured on schedule.
• Implementing change control: assess variations, review quotes, agree costs, maintain change registers.
• Prepare CVRs, cost reports, forecasts and cost-to-complete assessments monthly.
• Monitor subcontractor performance against contracts, programmes and targets.
• Manage subcontractor variations, compensation events and loss/expense claims as applicable.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities and report potential cost exposure.

• Managing subcontractor procurement and package management, ensuring outstanding packages are procured in line with the construction programme.
• Implementing and managing change control, assessing variations, reviewing subcontractor quotations, agreeing costs and maintaining accurate change registers.
• Preparing monthly CVRs, cost reports, forecasts and cost-to-complete assessments.
• Monitoring subcontractor performance against contractual obligations, programme requirements and commercial targets.
• Managing subcontractor variations, compensation events and loss and expense claims where applicable.
• Identifying commercial risks and opportunities, implementing mitigation strategies and reporting potential cost exposure
