Job summary

Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD is seeking a Quantity Surveyor for a Gloucester-based role (office-based with site travel). You will oversee commercial aspects of multiple live projects from procurement through final accounts, ensuring financial control and contractual compliance.

The suitable candidate will have 3-5 years of QS experience with a main contractor, proven multi-project management, and strong negotiation and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years Quantity Surveying experience.
• Experience with a main contractor is essential.
• Proven track record managing multiple live projects.
• Experience in fit-out, refurbishment, or general construction.
• Strong commercial management and subcontract procurement.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and contract documents.
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Based within commutable distance of Gloucester.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage project cost control from start to completion.
• Prepare cost plans, BOQs, procurement schedules, and tender documentation.
• Procure subcontractor packages and negotiating best value rates.
• Manage valuations, variations, and subcontractor payments.
• Produce monthly CVRs, cost forecasts, and financial reports.
• Ensure projects are delivered within budget and commercial targets.
• Liaise closely with project managers, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Maintain contract compliance (JCT experience advantageous).
• Support project teams with commercial guidance and problem solving.

Quantity Surveyor - Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of multiple live projects from early-stage procurement through to final accounts.
