Job summary

London-based luxury fashion houses are seeking skilled pattern cutters on a freelance basis to support womenswear RTW, VIP, and fashion week projects.

Ideal candidates will draft first patterns by hand and adapt existing patterns, work with delicate fabrics, and collaborate with designers and seamstresses to ensure precise fits and timely deliveries. You will participate in fittings and translate sketches into production-ready templates during peak periods.

Qualifications

• Ideally able to create manual first patterns and amend existing patterns.
• Experience with delicate fabrics: chiffon, silk, georgette, crepe, organza, satin.
• Proficient in draping, fabric manipulation and flat pattern making.
• Convert client measurements into patterns following design references.
• Work with designers and seamstresses to ensure garments reflect the vision.

Responsibilities

• Create original patterns and patterns for grading and bulk production.
• Assist in fittings to ensure correct garment fit.
• Interpret spec sheet comments and translate into working patterns.
• Collaborate with team to maintain deadlines during peak times.
