Job summary

Matchtech seeks an experienced Freelance Site Manager to oversee highways structures projects across Northamptonshire and surrounding regions. You will manage daily site activities, coordinate subcontractors and resources, and ensure completion to safety, time and budget targets.

The role requires SMSTS, NRSWA Supervisor, CSCS, and a full UK driving licence, with a strong leadership and communication ability and a solid highways structures background.

Qualifications

• SMSTS qualification is essential.
• NRSWA Supervisor qualification required.
• CSCS Card is essential.
• Full UK Driving Licence required.
• Proven leadership and strong communication skills.
• Thorough understanding of highways construction and site safety.
• Experience delivering highways structures projects (bridges, walls, culverts).

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day site activities on highways structures projects.
• Coordinate subcontractors, labour, plant and materials.
• Ensure works meet safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Review RAMS, permits and construction documentation.
• Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks and safety briefings.
• Liaise with clients, authorities and delivery teams.
• Monitor progress against programme and drive delivery.
• Maintain site records and reporting documentation.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications.
