Job summary

First Task Professional is seeking an experienced Freelance Civils Project Manager to support a live substation extension project in North Ayrshire. You will oversee day-to-day delivery on a live site, manage subcontractors and site teams, and ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Strong civils/power background and stakeholder management are essential; immediate start available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Project Manager within civils and/or power infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of substation or utility environments.
• Civils and power sector experience highly desirable.

We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Civils Project Manager to support the delivery of a live substation extension project based in North Ayrshire.

Key Responsibilities

* Overseeing day-to-day project delivery on a live substation environment

* Managing subcontractors, site teams, and programme performance

* Ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and within budget

* Coordinating civils and power-related activities across the project

* Liaising with client representatives, stakeholders, and supply chain partners

* Driving quality, compliance, and HSEQ standards throughout delivery

Requirements

* Proven experience as a Project Manager within civils and/or power infrastructure projects

* Strong understanding of substation or utility environments

* Civils and power sector experience highly desirable

* Experience working on live operational sites preferred

* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

* Valid SMSTS and CSCS certifications preferred

Desirable

* Existing SPEN authorisations would be highly advantageous, although not essential
