Job summary

HSBC Holdings plc is seeking an experienced Senior Manager for Fraud Decisioning and Insights in Payments. You will lead fraud detection strategies, oversee monitoring, and coordinate rapid responses to flash attacks while working with Fraud Operations and Strategic Analytics.

You will use root cause analysis to identify weaknesses, shape controls, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise detection models and decisioning approaches in a complex banking environment.

Qualifications

• Proven management-level experience within a Fraud Analytics or Fraud Strategy environment.
• Detailed knowledge of payments and/or account opening processes.
• Hands-on experience with fraud detection systems such as Feedzai, SAS EFM, Falcon, Biocatch, Hunter or Threatmetrix.
• Experience calibrating and optimizing fraud detection tools and decisioning approaches.
• Experience developing new processes and ways of working within a fraud strategy or analytics team.
• Understanding of best-in-class fraud analytics routines and embedding them in practice.
• Experience working across multiple fraud typologies and with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Shape and implement fraud detection strategies across a core fraud typology - Cards, Payments or Lending/First Party fraud.
• Oversee ongoing monitoring of fraud detection systems to keep performance optimised.
• Coordinate response to flash fraud attacks for your typology or business area and support rapid containment and recovery.
• Interpret and manipulate large data sets to identify trends, issues and emerging fraud risks.
• Establish root cause analysis routines that identify weaknesses and escalate to owners.
• Set alert treatment routines with operational teams for appropriate risk responses.
• Provide feedback to Fraud Operations and contribute to improvements.
• Partner with Strategic Fraud Analytics to develop models and tooling to meet business needs.
