Job summary

UHMB is recruiting a Band 3 Clinical Support Worker for Frailty Same Day Emergency Care at Royal Lancaster Infirmary in Lancaster. The role involves nursing support, basic clinical skills, and teamwork within a fast-paced unit.

You will perform venepuncture, ECGs, cannulation, and assist the RN with patient care. The 6-month fixed-term contract (secondment option and part-time hours considered) offers development and training in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
• Willingness to undertake NVQ level 2 in care related area.
• Willingness to undertake NVQ level 3 in care related area.
• Care certificate.

Responsibilities

• Work under the direction of a Registered Nurse to provide nursing care.
• Perform clinical skills such as venepuncture, ECG and cannulation.
• Provide basic patient care and document it in records.
• Work with multidisciplinary team to promote patient wellbeing.
• Assist in delivering direct clinical care and prioritise care.
• Determine patient comfort by talking and building rapport.
