Unilever Fragrance House at Port Sunlight, Wirral, is seeking an interim Fragrance Team Laboratory Assistant to support the UFH perfumery team in a fast-paced FMCG environment. The role runs for 6 months, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, and offers up to £29,000 per annum pro rata, depending on experience.

You will prepare samples, record lab work, ensure safety, and collaborate with the lab team and programme manager to meet deadlines in a state-of-the-art facility near Liverpool.

Qualificações

• Science background preferred, GCSE or A-Level acceptable.
• Experience preparing samples in a laboratory environment.
• Interest in fragrance products and fragrances.
• Strong teamwork and the ability to work independently.
• Awareness of safety procedures, risk assessment and CoSHH.
• Numerate with attention to detail.
• Clear communication around deadlines and challenges.
• Digitally literate in lab systems and record-keeping.

• Ensure all equipment and laboratory areas used are kept clean.
• Comply with safety and lab management procedures (Risk Assessment, Health Safety, Laboratory management, Standard Procedures).
• Update project team on challenges and timing changes.

Manpower are currently seeking an interim Fragrance Team Laboratory Assistant to work with our global FMCG client Unilever, renowned for brands such as Dove, Sure, Persil, and Simple, and become an integral part of their fast-paced FMCG environment.

The position is based at our client’s scientific Research & Development facility in Port Sunlight Village, Wirral easily accessible by train and car. This is a full-time temporary role to run for 6 months, requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Compensation for this role is competitive, paying up to £29,000 per annum, pro rata, depending upon experience.

This role sits within the Unilever Fragrance House team working across all Unilever Business Groups globally, alongside the fragrance R&D teams. The main part of this role is to prepare samples for the UFH perfumery team.

You will work as part of a broader team; working proactively, flexibly and independently in a fast-paced, multi-functional, multi-cultural environment; adhering to prescribed procedures and health and safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

Key Requirements

• Science background preferred, ideally A-Level, but GCSE-level science will also be considered
• Practical experience in preparing samples within a controlled laboratory environment would be useful
• Curiosity and interest in both fragrance and fragranced products is highly desirable
• Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work alone as required
• Awareness of safety within the laboratory ideally including working to standard operating procedures, risk assessment and CoSHH
• Highly motivated; numerate with great attention to detail and an interest in products and fragrances
• Ability to communicate clearly around deadlines and challenges
• Digitally literate
• Ability to stay calm under changing priorities
