Job description

At CoMind, we are developing a non-invasive neuromonitoring technology that will result in a new era of clinical brain monitoring. In joining us, you will be helping to create cutting-edge technologies that will improve how we diagnose and treat brain disorders, ultimately improving and saving the lives of patients across the world.

The Role

As an FPGA Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and optimization of the FPGA components and embedded systems that enable CoMind’s neuromonitoring technology. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop complex solutions for data acquisition and low-level hardware control, high-speed communications, and sophisticated DSP algorithms. Your expertise will be critical in ensuring our devices meet stringent regulatory, safety, and performance standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and verify FPGA solutions for CoMind’s neuromonitoring devices

  • Develop FPGA-based prototypes to support technical de-risking efforts

  • Create and execute verification test plans to support product verification and validation

  • Execute complete lifecycles for FPGA subsystems from concept through manufacturing release

  • Participate in and conduct technical design reviews, architecture discussions, and project planning sessions

  • Collaborate with electrical engineers, software engineers, mechanical engineers, and optics team members to ensure accurate definition, execution, and integration of FPGA components in the product

  • Work closely with manufacturing partners to ensure scalable and cost-effective production of electronic assemblies

  • Support troubleshooting, debugging, and failure analysis of electronic systems during development and production.

Skills & Experience:

  • 3+ years experience in FPGA design, instrumentation applications preferred

  • Fluency in Verilog/VHDL, safety-critical design experience preferred

  • Proficiency using Vivado Design Suite for RTL, HLS, and simulation

  • Familiarity with high-performance devices such as Xilinx Ultrascale FPGAs

  • Experience designing hardware control loops, familiarity with optoelectronics preferred

  • Experience with high-speed interfaces like JESD204B, PCIe, DDR4, and 10Gbe

  • Familiarity with high speed transceivers and fiber optics such as QSFP+

  • Experience designing communication protocols for high-reliability and high-throughput telemetry and command interfaces

  • Experience conducting FPGA power, timing, and utilisation analysis

  • Knowledge of product development processes and design controls.

Benefits:

  • Company equity plan

  • Company pension scheme

  • Private medical, dental and vision insurance

  • Group life assurance
