W&A are delighted to be partnering with a fast-growing, private equity-backed technology business to source an FP&A Analyst. The role is based in Edinburgh and offers hybrid working, a competitive salary depending on experience, plus a discretionary annual bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.

Company Profile

Our client is a well-established technology that has undergone significant expansion through recent acquisitions. With strong backing and ambitious growth plans, they are investing heavily in their finance function, creating exciting opportunities for talented professionals to contribute to the next stage of the journey.

Position Profile

As an FP&A Analyst, you will play a key role in producing insightful reporting and analysis to guide strategic decision-making across the group. Working as part of a dynamic commercial finance team, you’ll support month-end activities, financial planning cycles, and the development of data-led insights that drive business performance.

The FP&A Analyst role would suit a newly qualified to three years post-qualified accountant (CA, ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with strong financial modelling capabilities and a solid grounding in data analysis. You will have advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of Power BI, alongside a sharp, commercially aware mindset and an eagerness to make an impact in a high-growth setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consolidate and report accurate Group performance for Executive and Board-level stakeholders.
  • Support reporting for subsidiary entities and assist with quarterly forecasting and budgeting.
  • Analyse variances between actual and forecast results to highlight risks and commercial opportunities.
  • Build and enhance dashboards and financial models to support key strategic decisions.
  • Prepare ad hoc commercial analysis to support business initiatives and planning.
  • Maintain and improve the accuracy, efficiency, and automation of reporting tools and processes.
  • Collaborate closely with business partners, financial control, and the wider commercial finance team.
  • Embed risk awareness and customer focus into all FP&A activity.

Person Profile

  • Ideally a newly qualified accountant to three years PQE (CA, ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) – others may be considered
  • Experience in FP&A or financial modelling within highly commercial and complex businesses
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large datasets and visualisation tools
  • Experience of using Power BI or other BI tools (highly advantageous)
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to cross-functional collaboration
  • A growth mindset with a desire to learn, improve, and take on new challenges
  • £50,000 - £70,000 (depending on experience and qualification)
  • Discretionary annual bonus
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Generous annual leave entitlement
  • Ongoing career development and training support
  • Inclusive and people-first working culture
