Job summary

Johnson Controls Frome is seeking a Foundry Technician to join our production team in a site-based role operating a 12‑hour continental shift pattern. You will operate and support high‑pressure diecasting equipment, carry out quality checks and contribute to continuous improvement while maintaining high standards of safety and reliability.

Your experience in manufacturing and commitment to health and safety will help ensure production targets are met efficiently and safely.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a manufacturing, production or industrial environment.
• Strong commitment to health and safety standards.
• Ability to follow work instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Good attention to detail and focus on product quality.
• Reliable, proactive and team‑oriented approach.
• Flexibility to work a 12‑hour continental shift pattern.

Responsibilities

• Operate high‑pressure diecasting and associated foundry equipment safely and effectively.
• Produce components in line with production schedules, quality standards and operating procedures.
• Conduct routine quality inspections and record production data accurately.
• Monitor machinery performance and identify potential process or equipment issues.
• Escalate breakdowns, defects or quality concerns to the appropriate teams.
• Support tooling changeovers, routine maintenance activities and equipment checks.
• Maintain excellent housekeeping standards across the work area.
• Follow all Environment, Health & Safety policies, procedures and safe systems of work.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality and productivity.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, supervisors and support functions to achieve production objectives.
