Job summary
Progress Rail in Nottingham is seeking a proactive Maintenance Assistant to support the upkeep, repair and reliability of the plant, equipment and site facilities. You will work with experienced technicians, gaining exposure to preventative maintenance, fault finding and inspections in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
The ideal candidate has GCSEs in maths and English, basic mechanical aptitude and a safety-first mindset.
Qualifications
- GCSEs in Maths and English.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and interest in maintenance activities.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Willingness to undertake relevant training and development.
Responsibilities
- Assist maintenance technicians with preventative and reactive maintenance on plant, equipment and facilities.
- Support documentation such as job sheets, service reports, permits to work, risk assessments and maintenance records.
- Carry out basic maintenance and housekeeping tasks within workshops and plant areas.
- Assist with machine inspections and reporting defects, faults and maintenance requirements.
- Maintain maintenance records in the system and help store parts and tools.
