Help build the future of S.W.U.G. as our Founding Partnerships & Community Engagement Lead.

Develop relationships with local organisations, businesses, schools and universities, helping create opportunities that empower young people and strengthen our community.

As our Founding Partnerships & Community Engagement Lead, your work will help S.W.U.G. build lasting relationships with organisations, educational institutions, businesses and community groups that share our commitment to supporting young people.

The partnerships you help establish could lead to new volunteering opportunities, community collaborations, venue partnerships, sponsorship, funding opportunities and wider awareness of S.W.U.G.'s mission.

Your contribution will help us create stronger connections across Portsmouth while expanding the opportunities available to the young people we support.

As a founding volunteer, you won't simply be joining an established organisation—you'll help shape its future, influence how partnerships are developed and play an important role in building an organisation that aims to create a lasting positive impact within the community.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a confident and relationship-focused individual with at least 3 years' experience in partnerships, community engagement, stakeholder management, business development, external relations, fundraising, account management or a similar role.

Our ideal volunteer will have

• A minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in building and maintaining professional relationships.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Confidence networking and representing an organisation in meetings and community settings.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to identify opportunities and develop mutually beneficial partnerships.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple conversations and priorities.
• The ability to work independently while collaborating with the wider leadership team.
• A proactive, reliable and professional approach.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is passionate about creating opportunities for young people, believes in community collaboration and wants to help shape a growing organisation from the ground up.

Experience within the charity, education, community or voluntary sector would be advantageous but is not essential if you have transferable partnership or relationship management experience.

What will you be doing?

We are looking for a passionate and proactive individual to join S.W.U.G. (Show What U Got) as our Founding Partnerships & Community Engagement Lead.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping a growing community organisation dedicated to creating positive opportunities for young people through gaming, creative arts, music and community events.

As our Partnerships & Community Engagement Lead, you will help establish and maintain relationships with organisations, businesses, schools, colleges, universities, charities and community groups that share our vision. Your work will help build meaningful partnerships that support our programmes, strengthen community engagement and create opportunities for collaboration.

Working closely with the Founder & CEO and the wider leadership team, your responsibilities will include

• Building and maintaining relationships with community organisations and partners.
• Identifying opportunities for collaboration, sponsorship and joint initiatives.
• Representing S.W.U.G. at networking events, meetings and community forums where appropriate.
• Supporting partnership discussions and following up with prospective partners.
• Helping develop long-term relationships that support the organisation's growth.
• Maintaining accurate records of partnership activities and communications.
• Working collaboratively with our leadership team to identify new opportunities that align with our mission.
