Job summary

St Christopher's is seeking a Fostering Support Worker (Bank) to join our West Midlands team. You will work with supervising social workers and partners to support foster placements in a flexible, zero-hours role across days, evenings and weekends.

You will plan activities for looked after children, run support groups, provide support sessions, and supervise transport and family contact sessions. DBS check will be arranged if not current; minimum age 21 applies.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children and young people in a paid or voluntary capacity.
• Experience of administrative work including data entry and report writing.
• Ability to work with challenging behaviour and resolve conflict.
• Ability to maintain personal and professional boundaries.
• Good communication and administrative skills and the ability to build and sustain professional relationships.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement appropriate activities to meet the needs of looked after children.
• Run support groups for looked after children and birth children.
• Provide support sessions during the day, evenings or weekends.
• Transport young people to activities and appointments and supervise family contact sessions.
