Family care group in Chorley, Lancashire, is seeking a dedicated Fostering Support Worker to assist foster carers and the young people in their care. You will provide practical and emotional support to help foster placements thrive and promote stable, positive outcomes.

This part-time role requires NVQ Level 3, a full UK driving licence, and Enhanced DBS clearance. You will work flexibly from our Chorley office, contributing to care planning, training coordination, and reviews.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People’s Workforce, Health and Social Care, or demonstrable equivalent.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car.

About us

Family Care are a family-owned social care provider. We have been providing therapeutically informed care and education for children and young people since 1988. Caring for someone else's child in your own home takes a special kind of person. But no matter what their skills and experience, all our Foster Carers rely on support and guidance from our Supervising Social Workers, Support Workers and Managers.

About the Role

As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting foster carers and the young people in their care. Working alongside social workers and other professionals, you'll provide practical and emotional support to ensure stability, development, and wellbeing for all involved. This position is based from our Chorley, Lancashire office and covers the North West region.

Please note this role is part-time; 3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide regular one-on-one support to foster carers and children

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience of working directly with children and young people, including those with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) difficulties
  • NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People's Workforce, Health and Social Care, or equivalent-or demonstrable equivalent experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • A proactive, compassionate, and non-judgmental approach
  • Ability to work flexibly over 7 days; some evening and weekend working will be required, including during school holiday periods
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car (essential)
  • Enhanced DBS compliance
