Job summary

Bracknell Forest Borough Council – Fostering Team is seeking a Social Worker to conduct viability and full assessments for prospective foster carers. You will present findings at Foster Panel or Court and contribute to recruitment through inquiries and initial screening visits.

Training will be provided to carers, and you will support a duty rota to place children locally within our network. Successful candidates will coordinate with the team to ensure flexible and resilient service delivery,

Qualifications

• Experience carrying out viability and full assessments of prospective foster carers.
• Ability to present at Foster Panel or Court.
• Experience in recruitment and initial screening visits.
• Provide training to prospective and existing foster carers.
• Ability to support duty rota and coordinate local placements.

Responsibilities

• Undertake viability and full assessments of prospective applicants’ suitability to become Foster Carers, Special Guardians, Connected Person Foster Carers and Private Foster Carers.
• Present all relevant items at Foster Panel or Court (depending on the nature of each case)
• Contribute to the recruitment of prospective foster carers by responding to enquiries and completing initial screening visits to determine suitability for assessment
• Provide training to prospective and existing foster carers as per the needs of the service
• Support on a duty rota, supporting foster carers and ensuring that children are placed locally within our available Foster Carers
