Job summary

Hampshire County Council is seeking a Fostering Social Worker to recruit, assess, and support prospective foster carers in Hampshire, UK. The role offers part-time or full-time arrangements with a competitive £38.00 per hour locum rate.

You will complete Form F assessments, provide supervision and training to carers, and work collaboratively with other agencies to promote the best outcomes for children in care.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work.
• Experience in fostering assessments and Form F is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, assess, and support prospective foster carers through the fostering assessment process.
• Complete comprehensive fostering assessments, including Form F assessments where required.
• Provide regular supervision, guidance, and support to approved foster carers.
• Deliver training and development opportunities to foster carers to promote high-quality care.
• Advocate for children and ensure their wishes, feelings, and experiences remain central to planning and decision-making.
• Work collaboratively with children's social workers, education professionals, health services, and partner agencies.
• Support placement stability and contribute to positive outcomes for children and young people.
• Participate in safeguarding processes and undertake risk assessments when required.
• Prepare detailed assessments, reports, and documentation for fostering panels and statutory reviews.
• Maintain accurate and timely case records in line with legislation, policies, and professional standards.
• Contribute to service improvement initiatives and the ongoing development of the fostering service.
