Job summary

Hull City is seeking a qualified Social Worker to join our Fostering team, providing essential support to foster families and children in care.

Key duties include assessing prospective foster carers, offering ongoing support, and developing care plans with input from children, families and professionals. The role emphasizes accurate record-keeping and active multi-agency participation.

Qualifications

• A recognized Social Work qualification (degree or equivalent).
• Registered with Social Work England.
• Experience in fostering or child protection services is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a commitment to delivering high-quality services.

Responsibilities

• Assess prospective foster carers to ensure suitability and regulatory compliance.
• Provide ongoing support and supervision to foster families, and facilitate training and development.
• Collaborate with children, families, and other professionals to create and implement care plans.
• Maintain accurate case records and ensure adherence to local and national policies.
• Participate in multi-agency meetings and contribute to best practices in fostering services.
