Job summary

Northumberland County Council is seeking an experienced social worker to recruit, assess and support foster carers and their placements. You will supervise and document processes, participate in duty rosters and collaborate with locality teams to meet placement needs.

You will work in a dynamic Family Placement Service, ensuring the voice of the child is central and supported by strong supervision and development opportunities.

Qualifications

Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England are essential.
Minimum of two years post-qualification experience.
Ability to use different theoretical models including Signs of Safety to plan with children and families.
Experience working in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Commitment to improving outcomes for children and their life chances.

Responsibilities

Recruit, assess, supervise, train and support foster carers and placements.
Complete necessary documentation and duty rota responsibilities.
Respond to placement needs and support colleagues in locality teams.
Collaborate with partners to ensure the child’s voice is heard and acted upon.
