Job summary

Northumberland County Council is seeking an experienced social worker to join the Fostering Team. You will recruit, assess, supervise and support foster carers and their placements, ensuring high-quality documentation and service delivery.

You will participate in the duty rota and collaborate with partners to advocate for the child. You should hold a Social Work Degree and be registered with Social Work England, with at least two years post-qualifying experience in statutory social work.

Qualifications

• A relevant Social Work qualification such as the Social Work Degree and registration with Social Work England.
• Minimum of two years post-qualifying experience.
• Experience in a multi-disciplinary environment.
• A passion for maximising a child's life chances to improve outcomes.
• Understanding of performance information and maintaining high standards.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, assess, supervise, train and support foster carers and their placements.
• Provide quality and professional services by supervising foster carers, placements and completing documentation.
• Be involved in the duty rota and support placement needs.
• Be part of the Family Placement Service and work with partners to consider the voice of the child.
• Receive excellent support and supervision with opportunities for personal development.
