Job summary

Goldman Sachs is seeking an experienced AI Application Engineer to design, build, and productionize cloud-native AI solutions, embedding with Core teams to translate complex problems into secure and reliable AI products. You will shape workflows, define control boundaries, and deliver production-grade systems leveraging LLMs, vector search, and MLOps practices.

You will collaborate with partners across Risk, Compliance, and Finance to drive measurable business impact, champion scalable data

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• 9+ years of hands-on software engineering experience deploying production applications.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Java, or Go with solid software engineering practices.
• Experience translating complex business requirements into cloud-optimized architectures and production data models.
• Experience in forward-deployed/internal client-facing engineering, including stakeholder engagement and pilot execution.
• Extensive experience with major cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and cloud-native patterns.

Responsibilities

• Rapid prototyping, delivery, and operation of cloud-native AI applications with CI/CD pipelines.
• Partner with business and engineering teams to translate requirements into scalable architectures and data models.
• Embed with business teams to map workflows, identify automation opportunities, and drive adoption through pilots.
• Build AI applications using LLM APIs, retrieval-augmented generation, embeddings, and structured outputs for production use.
• Apply cloud, DevOps, and MLOps practices to ensure scalable, resilient, and cost-aware solutions.
• Document solutions and mentor receiving teams for long-term ownership.
