Job summary

Royal Collection Trust is seeking a Learning professional to develop and deliver formal learning activities onsite, via outreach and online touchpoints. The role focuses on creating curriculum-linked experiences for schools and teachers, translating heritage content into engaging learning.

You will coordinate projects, supervise freelance practitioners and collaborate with Learning, Curatorial and Conservation colleagues to inspire curiosity and lifelong learning through accessible programmes.

Qualifications

• Degree in teaching or education or equivalent experience.
• Experience developing and delivering learning programmes for schools or formal learning audiences.
• Experience coordinating projects and events with attention to detail.
• Experience supervising colleagues or freelance practitioners.
• Strong interest/knowledge in fine and decorative arts, architecture, heritage or cultural history.
• Excellent communication skills; able to translate specialist knowledge for diverse audiences.

Joining this talented team, you'll be responsible for producing our programme of formal learning activities, creating meaningful opportunities for school children, teachers and students to connect with the Royal Collection and royal residencies, and their histories, helping to inspire learning both in the classroom and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

• You'll develop and directly deliver high-quality formal learning activities onsite, through outreach and online, ensuring intended learning outcomes are met, supporting organisational objectives and departmental targets.
• Producing engaging curriculum-linked learning activities and teacher development opportunities, you'll create learning experiences that showcase the Royal Collection, royal residences and temporary exhibitions.
• You'll identify, engage and supervise external subject specialists, creative practitioners and freelance educators. You'll support their performance and ensure a consistently high standard of delivery.
• Working with Learning, Curatorial and Conservation colleagues, you'll translate specialist knowledge into accurate, engaging and accessible content for schoolchildren, teachers and other formal learning audiences.
• You'll contribute to the promotion and evaluation of programmes by preparing content for marketing activity, consulting with teachers and target audiences, gathering feedback and using insights to continuously improve learning experiences.

And in everything you do, you'll champion inclusive and accessible learning, supporting the department's ambition to engage diverse audiences while ensuring every programme delivers a memorable and meaningful learning experience.

• You'll have a degree in teaching or education, or equivalent relevant experience, with knowledge of child development and/or the UK national curricula.
• You'll have experience developing and delivering learning programmes, audience engagement activities or interpretive content for schools, teachers and formal learning audiences within a cultural, heritage, educational or visitor-facing environment.
• Experienced in coordinating projects and events, you'll be confident managing multiple activities simultaneously while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
• You'll have experience supervising colleagues, junior team members or freelance practitioners.
• You'll have a strong interest in and knowledge of fine and decorative arts, architecture, heritage or cultural history.
• A passionate communicator, you'll be able to transform specialist knowledge into accessible and engaging content that inspires curiosity, participation and learning.
• A collaborative team player, you'll enjoy working with experts across departments, cultivating a culture of shared knowledge and skills that will in turn enhance the Learning offering to schools and teachers.
