Job summary

Hauser & Wirth Learning in London (Mayfair) seeks a Learning Manager to develop and deliver innovative education programmes across the gallery and its communities.

You will build partnerships with schools, universities, charities and cultural organisations, ensure accessible, inclusive programming, and report on impact.

This role reports to Senior Director of Learning and Partner, and offers an opportunity to shape learning across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in learning programmes within arts or education.

The department focuses on developing global and local programmes with our learning communities, rolling out our philanthropist initiatives and partnerships, and working with our artists through residencies around the world.

Based in London (Mayfair), and reporting to the Senior Director of Learning and Partner, the Learning Manager role’s primary focus is to support and develop our learning initiatives across London. A passionate advocate for learning, philanthropy, and access to arts, the person in the role will focus on enhancing the contribution within each local community of education, partnership initiatives, and sustainability messaging, and building and rolling out inclusive learning programs that spark a dialogue between art, artists, and a diverse audience.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Develop the presence and influence of the department in London:

• Lead the development and delivery of Hauser & Wirth Learning in London, ensuring alignment with the organisation's global Learning strategy
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with schools, universities, cultural organisations, charities, community groups, artists, philanthropic partners, and corporate stakeholders
• Act as a visible ambassador for Hauser & Wirth Learning, representing the gallery at external events, sector forums, and partnership meetings
• Collaborate closely with Artist, Events, Marketing, Operations, Visitor Experience, and Gallery teams to embed learning across the gallery
• Support internal education as and when alongside Internal Communications and People & Culture

Deliver and Develop the Programme to the highest standards

• Design, deliver day to day, and evaluate innovative learning programmes, tours, talks, and artist-led activities
• Manage the delivery of all educational tours, activities and workshops for student, and community groups
• Identify partners and resources required for all programmes, and manage the day to day relationships with them
• Ensure all programmes are accessible, inclusive, audience-focused, and aligned with organisational priorities
• Manage programme budget, logistics, scheduling, resources, and delivery standards, and execute all events with the relevant resources and departments and within budgets
• Build an annual plan for learning programmes including budgets, calendars, working with partners and relevant events, including all programmes related to learning/education institutions, philanthropy, and sustainability
• Ensure compliance with organisational policies, including safeguarding, health and safety, equality, diversity and inclusion, and data protection
• Ensure local excellence and relevance as well as regional consistency of learning programmes and initiatives

Measure, evaluate and report on Impact

• Establish meaningful qualitative and quantitative measures of success
• Maintain accurate programme data, participant records, and evaluation frameworks.
• Produce regular impact reports, case studies, and narrative updates demonstrating outcomes and organisational value
• Monitor emerging trends and best practice within arts education, community engagement, and cultural learning

Required knowledge, skills and qualifications:

• Significant experience in a similar role with learning communities
• Sound understanding of philanthropy and partners
• A knowledge of and passion for contemporary and modern arts
• A track redord of educational programmes related to arts
• Proven IT skills, particularly with Mac OS, Excel and Outlook
• A proficiency in another European language is desirable
• Highly developed interpersonal and oral and written communication skills required to liaise with a diverse range of internal and external personnel at all levels.
• Capable of thriving in a multi-disciplinary environment and collaborating with a large range of operational departments
• Must be flexible, resourceful, and demonstrate excellent time management skills
• Strong skills: diligent, critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork and collaboration
• Able to build rapport, trust and excellent working relationships with colleagues at all levels
• Emotional Intelligence and ability to adjust in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment
