Job summary

Acclaim Handling Ltd Reading depot is seeking a Workshop Engineer to service and repair forklift trucks at customer sites, working from a home base attached to a depot.

Hours are 40 per week, Mon-Fri, 08:00-16:30, with onsite repairs of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic components and thorough examinations as required. The role requires City and Guilds/BTEC in a relevant field and a valid UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Experience in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering related to heavy goods / plant machinery.
• Holds a valid UK driving licence.
• Thorough Examination qualifications if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Onsite forklift truck repairs (electrical, mechanical, hydraulic).
• Inspect, quote and identify additional chargeable repairs.
• Service LPG, diesel and electric forklifts to high standards.
• Carry out thorough examinations and preventative maintenance.
• Maintain battery checks and prepare reports as required.
