Job summary

Acclaim Handling Ltd is a growing forklift distributor across the UK. This Workshop Engineer role is based at the Liverpool depot and involves servicing and repairing forklift trucks at customer sites.

You will work with the Service Manager to diagnose faults, repair electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems, perform preventative maintenance and complete thorough examinations. A UK driving licence and relevant qualifications are required, and you must be able to work unsupervised.

Qualifications

• City and Guilds or BTEC qualification in a related field of relevance to the Forklift industry, or similar qualification.
• Thorough Examination Qualifications.
• Experience in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering in heavy goods / plant machinery / automotive.
• Holds a valid UK driving licence.
• If relevant, to hold a valid permit to work in the UK.
• Able to work unsupervised as required.
• Numerate
• Literate

Responsibilities

• Onsite Customer Forklift Trucks Repairs: Repair of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic components.
• Onsite Customer Forklift Truck Servicing: Servicing LPG, diesel and electric powered forklift trucks to a high standard.
• Onsite Customer Overhaul of Forklift Trucks: Partial or full strip-down of LPG, diesel or electric trucks.
• Onsite Customer Battery Maintenance: Check voltages and gravities of traction batteries with meters.
• Liaising with the Service Manager and the Parts Controller; time entry, job reporting and customer sign off.
