Job summary

SSE Transmission is seeking an Assistant Forestry Manager to develop forestry expertise within a major northern Scotland infrastructure program. Based in Scotland with a hybrid work pattern, you will support planning, design and delivery of forestry activities across multiple transmission projects.

You will work with Forestry Managers and project teams, gaining exposure to land, environment and project delivery, and advancing in forestry activity across various project stages.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of forestry management practice and measurement protocols.
• Understanding of forestry operations; willingness to develop timber harvesting expertise.

Responsibilities

• Support forestry planning, design and delivery across transmission projects.
• Coordinate forestry project management activity, including programme updates and records.
• Assist with identifying and managing forestry-related risks to project delivery, network security and woodland management.
• Support forestry input at different project stages, from early site assessment to delivery.
• Build positive working relationships with landowners, tenants, agents, contractors and forestry bodies.
