Job summary

TeacherActive Limited. is recruiting a Nursery Room Leader in York to oversee the pre-school room in a Forest School–inspired setting.

The role involves planning and delivering EYFS-aligned activities, guiding staff, and fostering a nurturing, outdoor-focused learning environment. The successful candidate will hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Childcare or Early Years, bring nursery experience, and demonstrate strong communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• A minimum Level 2 qualification in Childcare or Early Years.
• Experience working within a nursery or Early Years setting.
• A strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
• The confidence to lead a room and support other members of staff.
• A passion for outdoor learning and Forest School activities.
• Excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills, with a positive 'can-do' attitude.

Responsibilities

• Lead the pre-school room and plan/deliver engaging activities.
• Support children's development and ensure a safe, stimulating learning environment.
• Work in line with EYFS and collaborate with staff.
• Promote Forest School and outdoor learning within the setting.
