Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is seeking a passionate Forest School Teacher/Practitioner for an Alternative Provision in Burnley to transform lives through nature-based learning.

You will plan and deliver outdoor Forest School sessions, manage small groups, and apply trauma-informed approaches while supporting vulnerable learners. The role offers term-time hours, a dedicated outdoor site, and a temp-to-perm pathway.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Forest School Leader certification is highly advantageous.
• Experience with vulnerable learners, SEMH, PRU, or SEND environments.
• Enhanced DBS and references.

Responsibilities

• Plan, risk-assess, and deliver practical Forest School sessions.
• Lead bushcraft, shelter building, campfire cooking, and conservation tasks.
• Embed functional skills, sensory regulation, and emotional literacy outdoors.
• Manage small groups (4-6 pupils) with Learning Support Assistants.
• Apply positive behaviour support and trauma-informed approaches.
