Job summary

NHS Grampian is recruiting an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the Health Care team based at HMP Grampian, working in partnership with the Scottish Prison Service. The post focuses on improving access to mental health support and delivering occupation‑centred care within a multidisciplinary setting.

The role requires autonomous practice in a complex environment, with supervision, mentorship and involvement in student training.

Qualifications

• Registered OT with mental health/forensic experience desirable
• Experience with marginalised or socially excluded groups desirable
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team in a complex environment

Responsibilities

• Provide an occupational perspective to care planning and service delivery for prisoners in HMP Grampian
• Address occupational needs to help residents participate in daily activities and support health, wellbeing and reintegration
• Supervise or mentor a support worker as needed and participate in student training
