Job summary
Sanctuary Personnel is recruiting a Custody Nurse / Paramedic Nurse in Spennymoor, Durham. This full-time, permanent role offers a salary of £43,272.68 per year and involves delivering forensic medical care in custody suites under PACE 1984.
The successful candidate will be NMC/HCPC registered with at least 3 years’ experience, hold a UK driving licence, and be fluent in English. DBS clearance will be arranged on appointment, with extensive benefits including annual leave purchase and more.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse or Paramedic with a minimum of 3 years’ experience.
- Full membership of the NMC or HCPC.
- Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle for business use.
- Proficiency in oral and written English.
- Residency in the UK for at least 3 years with Right to Work.
- Ability to obtain Level 2 NPPV Police Vetting clearance.
- DBS check required; arranged on appointment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver forensic practitioner services according to PACE 1984 and local protocols.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including injury records, and log activities.
- Advise custody officers on healthcare assessment and care prioritisation.
- Evaluate detainees’ fitness for detention and understand charges/requirements.
- Determine intoxication levels and manage withdrawal symptoms.
